Broadwood provides a service to transfer material recorded on Alesis ADAT's into a file based format for use with most popular music software packages.
Many home recording and professional studio's use either Pc's or Mac's to edit finished masters or individual tracks for cleaning up purposes, manipulation of audio or to master finish mixes. Sometimes, the medium used for recording the material has been done on Alesis ADAT digital tape machines. Due to the synchronisation capabilities of the ADAT's, recording may have been spread across multiple machines giving up to 32 (or occasionally more) tracks of digital quality audio. The widespread availability and use of software programs like Cubase, Cakewalk and Logic Audio, amonst others, make computer based mixing and mastering, either at home or professionally, an attractive and viable option.
Broadwood can transfer, sample accurate, any number of synchronised ADAT tapes into .wav or .aiff format. The resulting song files can be made a fixed length for easy importing and lining up of audio. Alternatively, you can mix and master the transferred tracks at our studio to give you optimum results with professional equipment at hand. Simply send us your ADAT tapes and we will perform the transfer and send a CD or DVD back to you with the individual wave files in the format of your choosing. We can also clean erroneous instrument noise and hisses and hums from your transferred audio. Edits like this can make a big difference to the overall quality. The start points of all the audio tracks will be the same so when you import them into you favourite software's arrange window all you have to do is zoom in and make sure the start of all thr tracks line up on the timeline, all your audio will then be in sync.
If you are interested in this service please email us your requirements and we'll send you a quote. Prices will be based on £15 per 30 minutes of tape plus £15 lining up fee. Any additional editing will be charged at our normal £25 per hour rate. If you decide to mix your material with us the lineing up fee and editing fee's will be included in the session fee.
