Broadwood's strength lies in it's relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Previous and existing clients maintain that the studios cosy interior and warm orange decor gives out a vibe that heightens the creative process making it the ideal environment conducive to putting those sketchy ideas into a fully produced reality.
Many songwriters and composers come to Broadwood having tried to, either, write at home but not having the technical ability to record their efforts, or having tried to produce the masterpiece that is in their head in a studio which lacks the equipment and where the engineer doesn't understand what the composer is trying to achieve and will only work by the book! Having used recording studio's for exactly this purpose before, we are well aware of these pitfalls and any concerns that the songwriter/composer may have will more than likely have been experienced by ourselves and have been catered for. It is difficult enough writing an original and inspiring song without having to contend with an engineer who is only concerned with getting your parts down and your session overwith! With Broadwood, the songwriter/composer is in charge of their session all the way. The engineer will guide and advise on the way but, at the same time, is well aware that rules are made to be broken!!
Understandably, many people are put off by the potential cost of using a recording studio to write in, for example, the composer doesn't know how long the creative process will take. We all know that ideas change and evolve and you soon find that your carefully planned budget is soon overrun. Broadwood recognises this and therefore offer the studio to composers and songwriters at a substantially lower fee than the advertised hourly rate. Also, the engineer is extremely flexible and will help manage your time and adapt to suit your requirements. Existing project customers will also get preferential booking priority as theres nothing worse than getting half way through a project and not getting another date for a month!!!

The studio includes all the creative tools necessary for the composer to work with, including guitars, amps, a drum kit, vocal booth, piano, keyboards and an arsenal of sound modules and effects. Logic Audio is used as recording medium allowing for extensive editing facilities so you can try out different song arrangements and formulations. A songwriter may wish to record all the parts themselves, just to notepad existing ideas to either hand out to band members to learn new material or just to catalogue song ideas. Alternatively, a songwriter/composer may wish to totally write and record a finished, polished piece, say, for a media broadcast. In this case the writer may not posess the skills necessary to perform all the parts in which case we can carrange for session musicians to quickly and accurately play the parts for them.
In a nutshell, Broadwood Studio is the best place for you to develop your song ideas. If you have any queries or would like to arrange to come down to check the place out before embarking on your project then contact nick@broadwoodmusic.com. |
